Science curriculum and standards vary largly by state, but their are simple experiments for students to practice using and document the scientific method. In addition many grade 4 science includes: what is matter, introduction to the periodic table of elements, molecules/compounds, physical/chemical changes, acids & bases, astronomy for kids – telescopes, planets, moon, constellations, rock cycle, erosion, parts of a plant, plant life cycle, animal life cycles for kids, food chains, what is energy and where does it come from (solar, wind, hydro, nuclear, coal), sound /light, magnetism and electricity, motion and forces, and simple machines for kids.
4th Grade History
In grade 4 social studies, studnets will continue to practice using a map and learning geography terms such as hemispheres, coordinates, mountains and scale. Learn more history the American Revolution, sometimes the Westward Expansion after the Lousiana Purchase, what is the US Constitution, importantce of the Bill of Rights, and the presidents. Students will typically learn all 50 states and their capitals in addition to learning more history about their particular state.
