JOB PURPOSE
The Marketing Manager in Australia is responsible for the magnification and elevation of the Burberry brand in the local market place via media, social and digital marketing, traditional PR, and strategic corporate events all with the aim of driving business to Burberry stores &/or Burberry.com. These will be conducted in a consistent brand manner adhering to the global and regional marketing guideline strategies.

JOB PURPOSE
The Marketing Manager in Australia is responsible for the magnification and elevation of the Burberry brand in the local market place via media, social and digital marketing, traditional PR, and strategic corporate events all with the aim of driving business to Burberry stores &/or Burberry.com. These will be conducted in a consistent brand manner adhering to the global and regional marketing guideline strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop local marketing strategy, based on global and regional strategy, supporting local business objectives in collaboration with retail business leadership team and Marketing and Communications regional leads
- Agree budget with Marketing and Communication regional & finance teams as well as country lead .
- Ensure best in class delivery against all agreed plans, including tracking ROI against all initiatives.
- Understand local consumer behaviour and needs and ensure those are translated into local plans, tailoring corporate initiatives to the country
- Feed local insights and ideas up to local and South Asia Pacific strategic leads
- Work closely with Merchandising, Retail, Client Engagement teams to better plan and adjust marketing tactics.
Internal & Partner Communications
- Implement country messages as agreed at regional level any country specific partner messages as agreed at a regional level
- Feed into regional key country partner moments to ensure overall communication plan fit for purpose
External Communications, Brand & Retail Marketing Events:
- Own relationships with local fashion media and place stories/product coverage
- Hold limited samples for press appointments in showrooms where relevant and for send out for shoots
- Manage PR moments (store openings, events, CB interviews) as needed
- Develop local business media relationships and partner with Corporate team on in-market corporate relations/exec communications activity as required (e.g. crisis handling, Regional CEO programme) , c ultivate and manage relationships with local talent (events, dressing, invites etc)
- Working closely with retail team and creating opportunities to engage with new customers and to retain existing customers, enhancing their loyalty
- Planning and arranging retail communication tools such as direct mailers, brochures, and e-DM. Collaborating with retail team to secure exposure in local media, such as seasonal catalogues, websites, and in-store signage, in key sales momentum.
- Managing event budget, setting clear KPIs, and measuring and reporting ROI.
- Keeping an eye on competitors' activities, reporting best practices to UK and local key stakeholders.
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Strong experience in media / luxury industry including 3-year digital marketing experience
- Experienced in retail marketing/communications experience within internet and social media
- Experienced in media agency relations and working within a matrix organization
- Excellent English verbal written communication
- Solid interpersonal skills
- Capable of juggling multiple projects simultaneously and working to challenging deadlines
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills, detail-oriented
- Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel
- Analytical expertise
