ABOUT THE TEAM
Scaling an international e-commerce platform for multiple product categories and for many different consumer segments needs a strong foundation of core capabilities that can be leveraged across many teams, different target markets and for a variety of product experiences. This is the purpose of the Client Engineering Platform teams at Zalando: We provide platforms for user tracking, web rendering, media delivery, privacy, data delivery, and localisation.

As the new Senior Product Manager for localisation you will be responsible for building a strong vision and strategy for our localisation platform, as well as the orchestration and execution of different localisation and translation projects, you will be the counterpart for our external platform vendor, you will manage the technical work as well as the strategic direction for how we build international but localised digital experience across different markets.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Creation of a strong product vision and -strategy
  • End-to-end management of all Localisation projects and needs across the organisation
  • Understanding requirements and strategic needs from different stakeholders and translating those into change or feature requests for the vendor or your internal delivery team
  • Engaging with the Business Units as well as the Marketing and Editorial Teams to make data driven recommendations (e.g. during their project exploration and solution design phase)
  • Orchestration and execution of Localisation projects and needs across the organisation
  • Managing cost and contractual optimizations
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • An experienced program or project manager, ideally with some insights into Product Management techniques.
  • An agile (transparent, participation, iteration, collaborative) mindset with high customer focus and excellent people skills
  • Talented writer of technical concepts, product roadmaps, and project briefs.
  • Systematic approach towards problem solving (Don't fix symptoms, fix root causes!)
  • You understand how to move your project or program from ideation through go-live, delivery, and handover, looking for ways to simplify future efforts to make them more "business-as-usual."
  • A highly motivated team player, you can manage conflicts and priorities among teams and stakeholders. You take ownership of your tasks, and work in an independent and structured manner.
  • Ideally, the candidate was involved or led localisation / translation project
