All you need to whip up this racing cards activity are a few simple materials you may already have on hand at home:

  • pool noodle
  • duct tape
  • 2 hot wheel cars
  • wood skewer (optional)
  • printable (optional printable at the bottom of this post)

Start by having an adult carefully cut the pool noodle down the length, carefully cutting both sides using kitchen scissors or a box cutter.

Next secure the opened pool noodle with duct tape. Their are so many cool colors of duct tape anymore to chose from! WE opted for a checkered red and white one to continue our racing theme.

Add details to personalize your track. You can make your own start and finish signs with construction paper and sharpies or use our cars printables in the pdf below. Then use tape to affix the signs to wooden skewers.

Insert the signs at the top or beginning  and then again at the bottom or end of our race course. THey should just insert pointy side down right into the foam of the pool noodle and stay put.
