The Fashion Stylist is responsible for creating the visual look and feel of video and photography content for e-commerce, digital, social and off-platform.
This role has a deep understanding of Charles & Keith’s brand and applies it broadly across a number of mediums. This subject matter expert utilizes skills in set design, set builds, fashion and accessories styling, propping and set dressing with responsibility on a projects broad aesthetic. This role partners with team members such as Producers, Photographers, Videographers, Graphic Designers, Creative Content to create environments, both onsite and on location, to meet the needs of a large array of product types and situations. This position requires high level of on the spot creative and business decision making as it relates to the styling and operational matters that arise in the moment.
Responsibilities
- Work on mainly e-commerce still life and model shoots – product across category and include styling apparel, accessory, shoes, bags, seasonal, holiday and lifestyle for non-live productions. This includes but not limited to:
- Design and build single and multi-use sets, often from concept through completion
- Select and acquire props, clothes and product appropriate for a wide variety of content types created specifically for each platform's unique needs.
- Ownership of the look and feel of sets and locations bringing brand’s to life in creative ways.
- Create mood boards, creative direction, poses
- Interpret simple style decks for multi-scene video, photography and motion graphic assets.
- Use information from various sources including Content Design, Category Production, eCommerce, Merchandising and Brand as inputs to create on-target customer focused executions
- Spearhead on set during shoots including steaming, pinning and fitting clothes or products
- Accurately develop styling guidelines
- Develop strong, up-to-date knowledge of designers, brands and trends
- Achieve daily and weekly targets and deadlines
- Ensure sets, mannequins, styling props and shoot areas are well maintained and tidy
- Juggle working on ad-hoc projects with maintaining your core job role
- Ensure sample stock is not mishandled
- Provide expert knowledge on products and styling ensembles
- Confidently merchandise products
- Communicate workflow and discuss any issues with the team
- Direct make-up and hair

- Coordinate products and props to enhance selling features
- React quickly to critical situations that occur production environment

Requirements
- Experience of 3 to 4 years+ in Fashion Styling
- Extensive experience with set design, builds, apparel styling, fashion styling for print, web, and retail and/or TV production shoots for commercials, promotional announcements, and special event projects with attention to varied multi-functional visual disciplines
- Must be knowledgeable and remain current on all industry and market trends
- Must be able to work in a fast paced high volume environment, where short deadlines are common
- Commercial awareness including a good knowledge of designers, brands and trends
- Competent and able to meet deadlines with an excellent work ethic and can-do attitude
- Exceptional eye for detail, visual composition and proportion
