Watermelon Slime
My kids love playing with slime, especially themed slime recipes! So as we were planning some fun watermelon activity ideas for August I just knew we had to incorporate an epic watermelon slime! This red slime with seeds looks just like the inside of a juicy watermelon fruit. Plus this watermelon slime recipe has the best texture that sheets beautifully, is not too sticky, and is quick and easy to make. Use this with the watermelon seed activities or as a stand-alone project. Whether you are a parent, teacher, or homeschooler – you will love this easy slime recipe!
Watermelon Slime Recipe
All you need are a few simple materials to make this watermelon recipe for play:
- 1/2 cup CLEAR Elmer’s glue
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1.5-2.5 tablespoons contact lens solution
- Pink and red food coloring
- uncooked black beans or other black balls for seeds
Watermelon Activity
Mix together the water, glue, and. food coloring until you get the color you’d like. Add the contact solution and baking soda.
Watermelon Theme
Add the black beans to look like watermelon seeds and mix together with your hands. How pretty is that slime!
My kids couldn’t waait to get their hands on it, LOL! Pun intended! I love how the slime keeps an impression for fun play.
Watermelon Activities for Preschoolers
If you pick it up and let it get pulled with gravity to the surface it sheets so beautifully. Isn’t that such a pretty red color and the black beans make perfect seeds!
