Senior Marketing Manager
VAVA, a fast-growing premium / luxury eyewear brand founded in 2014, is hiring a Marketing and Ecommerce Senior Manager.
Based in Porto, the role will require deep understanding of marketing and e-Commerce systems and best practices.
While we continue to grow and consolidate the VAVA brand, we’re looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to help building our marketing department and team. You will be responsible for building and managing the department, to create solid processes and global projects, to build engaging campaigns & experiences for our customer and target audiences. You will be part of a small Marketing team dedicated to growing the awareness and authority of VAVA. This truly is an exciting opportunity for a marketer to be at the forefront of a growing international wholesale business (B2B) and support the growth of the completely new e-commerce business (B2C) area of VAVA. The role is reporting into the company Director.
Role’s responsibilities:
- Develop a 360º integrated marketing strategy combining online and offline dimensions towards reinforce brand’s positioning as a new luxury player;
- Define, execute and oversee the marketing budget;
- Manage VAVA’s marketing department and brand strategy, empower the brand’s vision and strengths, and delivering robust storytelling with sharp product positioning;
- Closely monitor competitor’s activities & industry standards and identify opportunities and threats;
- Amplify brand awareness and authority in line with the priority markets to scale up retail sales and ecommerce by developing Global and Regional communication campaigns;
- Develop and follow-up the seasonal marketing milestone calendar;
- Drive VAVA’s go-to-market strategy for new product launches translating big-picture vision and detail-oriented workflow management into actionable briefs;
- Accountable for designing and collaborating on the implementation of end-to-end marketing processes and workflows bringing the right meetings, deliverables, and people together with the right responsibilities and clear direction;
- Management and maintenance of a quality brand experience across all platforms: website, social, direct digital outreach, etc;
- Drive engagement strategies as marketing activities, events or other initiatives both oriented for digital and retail markets;
- Constantly develop, test and iterate new ideas for content, customer experience, navigation, content, performance and functionality;
- Collaborate on visual asset production, partnering with Design and Creative to cultivate seasonal stories that both holistically present the brand and strategically supplement content for all marketing channels;
- Assist the implementation and optimization of a functional CRM in partnership with Digital Marketing Manager and sales team;
- Analyse and monitor Marketing campaigns performance through KPI’s in order to adapt the strategy and guide future initiatives;
- Drive decision-making based customer data and optimizing the customer experience;
- Work hand in hand with the Sales department. Support planning the sales forecast and consider it for the Marketing briefs and projects campaign;
- Support copywriting activities across website and email campaigns;
- Identify, coordinate and maintain professional relationships with PR agencies, develop and communicate topline PR goals, working with contracted/agency partners to implement strategy for increased brand visibility, partnerships, collaborations, placements, and influencer and celebrity gifting.
The person we are looking for should:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in multi-channel marketing;
- Have a degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent;
- Exceptional project management, communication, and analytical skills;
- Demonstrate a deep understanding and connection of the contemporary luxury fashion brands, specially but not only, from Paris, Antwerp, Tokyo, LA, New York and Seoul;
- Strong commercial and aesthetic understanding, an excellent sense of trends and luxury shopping behaviour;
- Being both commercial and analytical mindset, ability to work under pression in a result-oriented and multidisciplinary environment;
- Shown a strong knowledge of the current luxury environment, namely fashion PR, Fashion and Design Agencies;
- Eeagerness for working at a small and rapidly growing company and confidence to independently identify and execute deliverables;
- Efficiently able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and ability to maintain organizational support systems;
- Enthusiastic, innovative, pragmatic and creative;
- Result-oriented, operational, strong organizational skills;
- Great communications skills and English fluency is required;
- Experience working with back-end platforms and integrations to manage websites, content and CRM.
Bonus points:
- Experience working in the eyewear industry;
- Experience working in communication agencies and/or PR agencies;
- Fluency in a second language – German, Spanish and / or French ideal;
- Demonstrate sensibility for contemporary art and design;
- Demonstrates social responsibility, highly sensitive to sustainability, great sense of ethics;
- Experience in social and / or environment action projects.

The vision behind the brand is inspired by the post-industrial world when cities like Detroit, as the symbol of prosperity, collapsed and reinvented themselves to ensure survival beginning a movement towards the creation of a new society.
We play around people’s imaginary and "science fiction”. Therefore, we are very much inspired by futuristic unisex characters. The unisex figure helped us to create a minimal silhouette and a monochromatic figure.
The unisex philosophy is naturally affiliated to the DNA of the brand. Unisex is one of the ways to the future.
The great challenge, for the brand, is in the exercise of eliminating superfluous compositional elements, adornment and romanticism to build a neutral gender.
