Nanushka is looking for an experienced Head of Sustainability, join the team to strengthen the sustainability ambition and progress. You will be responsible for providing leadership over Nanushka’s sustainability strategy and delivering sustainability performance across the organization in line with set objectives.
This is an exciting time in the growth of the brand: we have recently opened flagship stores in New York and London; and have become a member of Vanguards, a fashion group and investment platform for emerging and sustainable luxury brands. We’re Budapest-based with a global outlook, with teams in London, New York, and Milan. The role of Head of Sustainability, then, is an exceptional opportunity to be part of an important time in Nanushka’s story.

Responsibilities:
Develop and implement overall sustainability direction and strategy
Oversee and ensure implementation and maintenance of Nanushka’s commitment, standards, and policies
Develop appropriate measures to assess performance against targets & KPIs
Consult and collaborate across business functions to facilitate the integration of sustainability and delivery of set objectives
Oversee and support supply chain teams with the implementation of social and environmental sustainability standards
Oversee overall collection, materials, and product sustainability targets
Identify opportunities to create a positive impact
Build relationships with innovators and start-ups, identify collaboration opportunities, and manage relationships
Develop and manage material innovation strategy and timeline in accordance with business and design objectives
Manage and oversee the development of yearly impact assessment and sustainability reporting
Manage and oversee yearly data gathering activities, methodology, and coverage
Oversee climate action strategy, and climate reduction opportunities and ensure progress is in line with set targets
Identify inefficiencies or risk areas and develop tailored improvement and actionable plans to reduce environmentally, social impact, or risks
Monitor upcoming regulation, global emerging environmental and social risks
Serve as technical and expert knowledge on sustainability to all internal teams, business partners, and suppliers both on sustainability to enable them to undertake their roles and responsibilities related to sustainability
Support communication teams in developing narrative and copies in relation to sustainability and
innovation
Monitoring and reporting on sustainability performance and progress against set objectives to
the leadership team and Vanguards
Participate in industry events to benchmark program initiatives
Develop and manage sustainability and innovation budget
Skills/Qualifications:
Previous experience in leadership roles
A system thinker dedicated to creating positive and lasting change in the fashion industry
Confident in leading and promoting a sustainable culture
Understanding of fashion supply chains and luxury fashion products
In-depth knowledge and technical understanding of sustainability issues within the fashion industry such as ethical trade, climate change, biodiversity, and circularity
Experience with rollout of ratings and certification programs like ESG, B Corp
Knowledge of innovation landscape
Great communication and presentation skills
Good ability to understand and analyze information and data, translate and convey them
Experience with project management involving multiple departments and stakeholders
Strong entrepreneurial and collaborative flair and solution-orientated
