The Ecosystem Operations PMO Team provides analytical and program management support to Ecosystem Operations, in order to increase operational effectiveness and output. This will ensure effective delivery of new and existing frameworks, while reducing complexity as Shopify scales.

As a team, we will:
  • Promote and accept invitations to explore opportunities to automate and streamline ecosystem processes.
  • Provide a clear process for introducing new short and long term activity to the Operations team.
  • Prioritize and focus on high team output with a merchant first approach.
  • Celebrate simplicity, reliability and impact.


Responsibilities
  • Reducing / simplifying operational processes without compromising quality or increasing support with cross-functional teams
    • Constantly re-evaluating and improving process accuracy, consistency and scalability
    • Helping drive reporting implementation to increase process visibility and tracking
    • Drive key initiatives centered around the optimization and automation of new and existing processes
    • Consistently assess all possible options to improve output, including processes, team modifications (internal and BPO), technology and the cost/benefits involved in them
  • Champion medium to large projects, often including several stakeholders and engineering resources, with minimal supervision
    • Work on a wide variety of projects including ones which are proactive, reactive - short time periods as well as some which may take months or even years
    • Projects driven by both operations as well as commercial or product teams
  • Providing analytical and data-driven decision-making support for key projects
  • Help provide solutions to complex problems that affect our operations and front line teams
  • Create strong feedback loops between operations and product teams to better surface problem areas to the correct stakeholders
  • Help develop the goals, priorities and strategies of a scaling team
  • Assist with developing and presenting clear project roadmaps to our stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Understand the operational and data needs of the teams with whom you will be closely working - assist with creating dashboards and scorecards to help the operational and strategic success of those teams
  • Identify gaps or bottlenecks within business processes with end to end analysis
  • Provide solutions for small to large problem areas that affect our operations' teams output
  • Assist with hiring and scaling the team based on growth and business needs
  • Work with forecast teams to strategize headcount, resource allocation and contingency planning to ensure commercial goals are met under a variety of scenarios


Qualifications

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and ability to influence senior, cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong data-based story-telling and decision-making, exercising good judgement in ambiguous circumstance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that enable you to communicate complex ideas in a simple & easy-to-understand way for any audience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with superior attention to detail and a demonstrated track record of leveraging data to drive business impact
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience with people leadership, strategic planning and project management
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and interpret ambiguity
  • Superior time management and organizational skills - ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines and address challenges in a collaborative team environment
  • Preferred PMP (Project Management Professional) and/or PfMP (Portfolio Management Professional) certification
